SMM September 12:

This week, the operating rate for die-casting zinc alloy recorded 53.99%, up 2.99 percentage points WoW. Raw material side, zinc prices maintained fluctuating trend this week, coupled with no significant improvement in end-use demand, enterprises mainly relied on long-term contract deliveries, with spot order procurement decreasing, leading to a decline in raw material inventory. Finished product inventories side, affected by sluggish shipments during the week, finished product inventories saw a slight accumulation. Meanwhile, in terms of end-user orders, current demand in the traditional small hardware market remains relatively weak, and enterprises believe that various downstream orders have not improved. The rise in the operating rate of die-casting zinc alloy enterprises this week was mainly due to production resumptions from previously halted enterprises, driving overall production higher, but actual market consumption remains generally modest, with the operating level of die-casting zinc alloy enterprises lower than the same period last year. Looking ahead to next week, the operating rate of die-casting zinc alloy enterprises is expected to hover around 54.02%.
